Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is designed to give healthcare providers a systematic, evidence-based approach to the initial assessment and management of trauma patients. ATLS equips you with the skills to rapidly identify life-threatening injuries, prioritize interventions, and stabilize patients in the critical “golden hour” of trauma care.
By completing ATLS, providers gain:
-
A standardized framework for evaluating trauma patients (primary and secondary survey).
-
Hands-on practice in key life-saving procedures (e.g., airway management, hemorrhage control).
-
Improved confidence in decision-making during high-stress trauma scenarios.
-
The ability to communicate effectively with trauma teams using a shared language and approach.
Overall, ATLS enhances a provider’s readiness to deliver organized, efficient, and potentially life-saving care to a patient, especially in resource-limited hospital settings.
Upon completion of the ATLS course participants may receive up to 16 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours for a full certification.
Prerequisites: You are required to complete the Pre-Test with a score of at least 75% prior to day 1. You will not be admitted if you have not completed the Pre-Test in the ATLS student portal.
