This course encompasses the current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR and ECC guidelines. Successful performance of a skills exam is required for a completion card. Students may also select to only sit for the CPR & AED portion (3.5 hours), or only sit for the First Aid portion (3.5 hours). Taking the entire 8-hour course is encouraged.
You MUST bring a copy of the CURRENT textbook to the course.
You WILL NOT BE ADMITTED to the class without the required textbook. You can purchase the manual online.

- Course Content

This course includes the following for assisting in the care of an adult victim:
- Recognizing Medical Emergencies including breathing problems, heart attack, allergic reactions, fainting, diabetes and low blood sugar, stroke, seizures, heat-and cold-related emergencies, and shock.
- Recognizing and Treating Traumatic Emergencies such as insect stings & bites, bleeding wounds, burns, electrocution, and broken bones.
- Accessing the Emergency Medical System (911)
- Assisting a Victim of Choking
- Giving Chest Compressions, or CPR
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
