EMT-to-Phlebotomy Bridge (NHA CPT)

Your EMT credential already covers patient care, anatomy, and infection control. This accelerated bridge program utilizes your existing medical training and focuses strictly on the phlebotomy-specific skills required to pass the National Healthcareer Association Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NHA CPT) exam.

The curriculum aligns the National EMS Education Standards directly with the NHA CPT test plan. You will skip the introductory material you already know and focus entirely on new competencies: venipuncture technique, order of draw, specimen integrity, and laboratory workflow.

Program Structure

Phase Format Description
1. Online Pre-Work Self-paced (~22 hours) Complete foundational knowledge domains on our learning platform before classroom sessions begin to maximize hands-on training time.
2. In-Class Intensive In-person Focuses on skills labs, venipuncture and capillary techniques, special collections, and CPT exam review. Scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings plus full Saturdays.
3. Clinical Externship In-person (Affiliated Site) Supervised live-patient procedures to meet the NHA requirement of 30 successful venipunctures and 10 capillary collections. This phase is competency-based and finishes upon reaching proficiency.
